Join us in Saskatoon, SK on April 27-28, 2024 for our 2-day, 16 hour Evidence Informed Clinical Cupping course. This course is a mixture of lecture and hands-on training. Learn how to provide quick, effective pain management and enhance the mobility of your clients with Cupping Therapy.

Interested in learning how to educate your clients on the ways in which a program of Cupping Therapy fits perfectly into their wellness activities? Let's delve into the history, theory, research and ethics in Cupping Therapy in order that you have a volume of knowledge not only about how best to provide this treatment, but also how to explain it and how to enhance overall client retention. Learn how to provide quick, effective pain management and enhance the mobility of your clients with Cupping Therapy.

You will learn how to use 12 different medical grade cupping sets, contraindications/indications of cupping, proper cleaning and infection control protocol, type of cupping and techniques for treatment of many issues and patient complaints commonly seen in your practice, charting, cupping with movement, nerve glides, scar tissue work and debunking of many myths taught in the industry.

This Cupping course is unique in that we do not focus on any one 'type' of Cupping Therapy but rather focus on the research available and the types of treatments that can be provided using the various products in the marketplace. This approach provides you with the knowledge and skill on how to use a number of different types of cups to achieve the overall therapeutic outcome your clients are looking for.

What you will need:

• linens, massage oil, hand towel and whatever makes you happy in your treatment room.

• You will be provided a digital manual one week prior to the course. Please print the manual and bring it to the course with you or follow along on your electronic device. If you would like, bring a notepad and pen for taking notes.

• Day 2 – athletic shorts and a tank top/yoga wear

You receive a 4-piece silicone cupping set with registration. You can bring any cups that you have to practice with. We will have several types of cups to practice with during the course.

Hours:

The course will start at 8:30am through 5:30pm MST, each day. Lunch will be from 12:30-1:30pm. There will be a 15 minute break in the morning and afternoon.

***We will be starting at 8:30am sharp each day, so please join us by 8:15am to get set up and settled.

Certificate:

You receive a certificate of completion by email after the course. Provide this to your liability insurance provider, association or governing body. Provinces have their own rules and regulations. It is your duty to know what is in your scope of practice.

Cancellations:

Cancellations before March 27th will receive a refund minus a $50 administration fee. Cancellations after March 27th and before April 13th will receive a 75% refund. Cancellations after April 13th will not be eligible for a refund. Should you need to cancel, you may transfer your registration to another person, or date/class.

Instructor:

Paul Kohlmeier, BPE, RMT, R.Ac.

Registered Massage Therapist and Registered Acupuncturist, Paul Kohlmeier is an experienced and skilled therapist who is also trained as a Traditional Chinese Medicine Herbalist. Graduating with a Physical Education degree from the University of Manitoba, Paul went on to obtain his Diploma in Massage Therapy from Wellington College and Diplomas in both Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine from the Hua Xia Acupuncture and Herb College of Canada. Paul has a wealth of information looking for ways to get out of his head…which has led him to teaching and lecturing over the last 15 years.

Paul runs a mobile massage and acupuncture practice based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. In addition to his keen interest in Massage Therapy and Chinese Medicine, Paul is a self-proclaimed research geek having participated in the World Fascia Congress, IN-CAM and the Massage Therapy Foundation Research Conference and loves bringing everything he learns into the treatment room as well as the classroom.

Being certified in both Massage Therapy and Chinese Medicine, Paul has a unique ability to speak to the two different bodies of knowledge. He takes a decidedly different approach, working towards an explanatory narrative that represents current thinking and science, as well as adding a feedback-based model of explanation that includes a patient-directed approach.
